Both News12 and Newsday.com are reporting that a "Columbine-like" threat has been found on a desk at a John F. Kennedy Highschool Classroom in . The threat claims the incident will take place on Nov 1. According to a written statement issued by the school, there will be heightened security throughout the day tomorrow.
The writing on the desk was found Friday. Officials at the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District said in a statement yesterday that " … the district investigated the matter and notified the police to implement the proper precautionary steps. Security has been heightened with the cooperation of police.

The storms this past weekend swallowed up nine back yards in as water overtook a protective wall. Rep. Tim Bishop is petioning to allow affected families to apply for relief…
Several hundred feet of seawall gave way, leaving the back and front yards of the homes flooded. Residents expressed great fear of being completely exposed when the next storm or hurricane passes through.

Vacationing in the Hamptons

Residents of the village of have been told to not drink tap water unless it has been boiled. Tests are being conducted and officials expect that the boil order will be in effect until at least Saturday (10/28).

Bayville water officials believe the water tower became contaminated with the bacteria coliform. Reverse 911 calls informed people of the boil water advisory, but some residents say they found out too late. Water officials maintain there is no need for panic if water was consumed, but to use either bottled or boiled water until told otherwise. They say it is safe to bathe or shower in the water.

Joseph DiBiasa of and his son, Joseph Michael DiBiasa, were on a hunting trip in Colorado on Tuesday. Tragedy struck when the strap on a rifle the young Mr. DiBiasa was carrying broke. Mr. DiBiasa accidentally grabbed the trigger, unfortunatly the gun’s safety was not engaged and the gun went off, hitting and killing the senior Mr. DiBiasa.

The death has been ruled accidental and no charges were filed.
Joseph DiBiasa Jr., 66, of Ronkonkoma, N.Y., was killed instantly Tuesday, Gunnison County investigators said.
